13.7-26.7 International volunteer camp (KVT) för youth.

24.7.  18-21  Concert for young people in the park 

31.7-31.8 Art in the Park, artexhibition. Opening 1.8 15-18.

KVT-camp is organised in Verners Park 13-26.7.2009. Volunteers from different countries work int he park with gardening during two weeks and organise event for children and concert for young people.

The volounteers pay their own tickets to Finland but the camphost Ingela Wikman/Verners Park pay for the hosting and food. We also visit Kaustinen Folk Music Festival and the Days of Jakobstad. The volounteers live on two summer cottages on a island about 10 kilometres from the park.

The idea of the camp is for local youth and international volunteers from around the world to get to know each other and allow the volunteers to get acquainted with the Finnish-Swedish minority and the countryside of the Ostrobothnia region. The volunteers will also carry out activities which will be useful for the whole Kruunupyy community. We also want to local youth get to know youth from other parts of the world.

Verners Park is a cultural park in Kronoby (Kruunupyy), a Swedish-speaking community on the west coast of Finland. The park is an important meeting place for inhabitants of Kronoby, especially families with children. Cultural events are organised there and tourists visit the place.
W: Gardening, woodcutting, building a stone wall, small carpentry work, organising activities for children and an open-air concert for youngsters.
A: On an island, simple conditions. No electricity or running water, washing in sauna and in the sea.

Verners Park is participating in Konstrundan 2009 of Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland. The art exhibition is named Art in the Park and is open from 31.7 to 31.8.

Opening is Saturday of 1st of August 15-18. Welcome!

This summer Verners Park has its third trainee from the Art school of Nykarleby and the Feminist wallpaper will get a new face.
